A little about Abe…
FOSTER UPDATE 10/22/22:
Abe has come leaps and bounds from where he started!
His hair is growing back, he is doing great with his house breaking and he is learning how to play with dog friends and bravely explore his new world.
Abe’s ideal family still doesn’t include cats, but I think he would be content with a family of assorted humans to dote upon him regularly. He has proven himself to be incredibly gentle and easygoing.
Abe prefers the company of the smaller / same sized dogs in the house - versus the larger than him friends, so an approved application and a few meetings first would be needed to make sure he is a good fit for the entire house.
Please reach out to his foster mom with any questions:

This senior gentleman (possibly around 10 years old), was found as a stray. Suffering from mange, conjunctivitis and all the woes that come from being a street dog.
Since being with his foster family, Abe has learned to play with toys, go in the car, sleep in his crate and has been making strides with his house training.
Abe will need someone understanding of his past. He will be neutered, but spent his life as an intact male- meaning that going potty on everything has always been an option. He’s allowed to explore the house on leash and with supervision, and mostly chooses to just lay by his foster mom’s side.
Abe has a lot of pep-in-his-step still and is hoping for an adult family that is moderately active but loves a Netflix marathon. Who is home more than not- or can mostly bring Abe along.
He needs a home with no cats - unsure about other small animals, but best to avoid those too. Unsure about kids, but I would say respectful, dog-savvy, 12+ year olds would be an option for Abe.
Abe is dog social, living with several ages and sizes in his foster. He won’t mind a dog friend in the home but really wants to be the center of your entire world. So, the existing dog in the home shouldn’t mind sharing!
